Wow. Four months is waaaaay too long! I’ve been horrible with updates and I appologize…let’s see if I can’t get things all caught up.
In January, we were fortunate enough to spend New Years with our friends (and Lisa’s bestest friend ever) Jennifer and Eric and their children. We were there for about 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! To add to it, we spent New Year’s Even with all of my college friends, something that, I think it’s safe to say, has long been an annual tradition. Skiing at Loveland, Kareoke, laughter, and buying a bath tub are all key parts of that time…it was fabulous!
February brought our first Valentine’s day as a married couple (we’ve had a LOT of “firsts” this past year, so we’ll leave it at that!) and March finally seemed like a normal month. Then April hit.
Lisa made the decision in April to quit her job with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage after 9 years with the company. There were many unmet expectations and broken promises, and that combined with an hour commute each way finally pushed her over the edge. She turned in her two weeks notice and prepared to go jobless…a scary thing for someone who’s always organized and in control!
However, within about a week she interviewed for a new job and was offered it on the spot…despite her interview being the first in 2 days of interview slots! She accepted a front office position at a nearby charter school called Eduprise, which is nice because now Justin bypasses the long waiting list to get in! She’ll start her job in July when the school year starts and will be working part time for about 4 hours a day. We’re very excited about this opportunity!
As far as I’m concerned, I’m now a year older and a year wiser…well, at least a year older. I’m still with Accenture and we just finished “system test” for phase 2 of our project with the Arizona Dept of Revenue…a might task, indeed! I spent the last two weeks of April working 150 hours to get it done, but we submitted it and the client approved it and is now doing their own testing before we “go live” with it in July. However, a day after we turned it in we started phase 3, which is Individual Income tax. Not much time for a break!
There. That’s the update. And I now promise to update way more frequently! In fact, we’ll be in Indiana for the week before Memorial day, so I’m SURE we’ll have something to post!
Finally! Something since Christmas! Can’t wait to have you guys here!
