SHE’S IN!!!

Moving Time!

After a year of waiting for the house to be empty, after 7 months of not having a house to herself, and after 3 months of not even having her own house, Lisa is finally moved into the new house! This past Saturday we began putting the finishing touches on the house…bathroom countertops and sinks were installed, beautiful temporary 1/2″ plywood kitchen countertops were installed, the grout was sealed and a swing was installed on the tree in back for Justin. But the weekend was not without it’s challenges…

With the house now being “livable”, Lisa’s uncle brought his trailer over and we began the long trek to Surprise to get the last of her things from the old house. I was expected to meet them there, until I got a call that, of course, they had a blow-out on one of the trailer’s tires. Thankfully, it’s a double axle trailer so they were able to get pulled off the highway but I then had to drive to Mesa to get the spare tire and meet them at the exit where the crippled trailer sat.
Nevertheless, we were successful in our mission and the living room now has furniture, Justin and Lisa both FINALLY have their own rooms, we ate dinner at an actual table last night, and we’ve even started hanging pictures on the wall. Justin seems to be adjusting well considering now that he has a big backyard to run around and play in we can’t keep him in the house! After so many months of grueling bedtimes and him not wanting to sleep, Justin has fallen asleep these past two nights almost before his head hit the pillow. Looks like this will be a welcome change for both Lisa and Justin!
