As many of you know I have been on bed rest since June 2nd when I was (thankfully) released from the hospital after having a steroid shot (for the baby), an IV to help with any dehydration and 2 Terbutaline shots! Believe me…I wasn’t a happy camper! Since then I had to return to the hospital 24 hours later for the 2nd steroid shot and go to the Dr.’s office and do a 3 hour glucose test (since I didn’t pass the first one). All that in one week and for someone who doesn’t like needles, shots or anything being close to that kind of stuff. However, I made it with a lot tears to spare for the labor part!
It has been 48 days later and we are still hanging in there! I am on Terbutaline pills which I take every 3 hours and feel like the clock is moving even slower than before! The pills make me a little crazy, but poor Drew is hanging in there. He is doing a fantastic job of cleaning, helping with dinners, laundry and trying to make me happy and comfortable. Whitney (my mother’s helper), that we have had for 4 weeks now comes in 3 times a week from 10am to 4pm and helps with Justin while I just lay in bed and try to make myself look somewhat productive (ha)!! She has been absolutely wonderful and Justin loves her to death! They play games, watch movies and play outside in the pool (which is a must in this 115 degree weather)!
So…I guess the good news in spite in all of this is that after my Dr.’s appointment last week I have 8 days left and I am OFF of BED REST!! It has been a long and challenging road, but without all the love and support from friends and family I would have never made it this far! I had a wonderful baby shower from some friends, lots of dinners made from my friends from Justin’s school (Edu-Prize) where I work, friends and neighbors who come over to do some cleaning, and care packages sent from some of Drew’s wonderful friends! We can’t thank all of you enough for the prayers, support and encouragement that we have received!
With only 8 days left I can start to sort of see the light at the end of the tunnel. We had an ultrasound a week ago to make sure that the baby is in a good size and weight range incase I deliver early, but we are still praying for a healthily baby that I can hold and cradle after delivery!!
Thanks for the update! You will continue to be in our prayers as you await the arrival of your little one! Blessins…the Lipps’
You are doing such a good job keeping our grandson safe and healthy. Keep up the patient waiting! We love you.
Gottfried and I are excited for all of you! We are praying for you that everything goes well.
p.s. – Mary is getting married in september!
